Consecration of Russia & Ukraine Goes Global & Local

Alejandro Bermudez reports — Pope Francis invites Catholic bishops worldwide to join him in consecrating Russia, Ukraine.

“While this ‘invitation’ from Pope Francis to the bishops is obviously not the same as an ‘order,’ which is what Our Lady specified, it is nonetheless a positive sign,” Matt Gaspers reports — BREAKING: Apostolic Nuncio Alerts U.S. Bishops to Upcoming Consecration of Russia and Ukraine, Says Pope Francis “Intends to Invite” Them to Join.

“The Diocese of Rochester will join Pope Francis in prayer March 25 as he consecrates Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary,” Gina Capellazzi reports — Faithful to join pope as he consecrates Russia, Ukraine to Mary. More:

Bishop Salvatore R. Matano will celebrate Mass for the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park, Rochester, at 7 p.m. All are invited to attend this Mass.

Bishop Matano also is asking that the faithful pray the Memorare for this same intention on the nine days leading up to and including March 25:

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,

that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,

implored thy help or sought thy intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee,

O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.

To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,

but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

I believe Our Lady “asked,” not “ordered” or “commanded.”
“I shall come to ask for the Consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart…If people attend to My requests, Russia will be converted and the world will have peace.”
In keeping with the Catholic principle of subsidiarity, the Bishops are “invited.”

In the apparition of July 13, Our Lady warned the three seers that if people did not stop offending God, He would punish the world “by means of war, hunger and persecution of the Church and of the Holy Father,” using Russia as His chosen instrument of chastisement. She told the children that “to prevent this, I shall come to ask for the Consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart” and promised that, by this single public act, Russia would be converted and peace would be given to the world.
